Here at the JCC our work constantly involves setting the agenda and defending religious rights – especially in recent times when religion and faith came under attack far too often, as has been widely reported.
The JCC spends ample time in central government lobbying and engaging with politicians and Ministers cross-party to protect the rights of religious communities here in the UK – especially amongst members of the Jewish faith.
The JCC works to ensure that religious practices and religious institutions will be protected from secular society lobbying groups that do not treat religion with the respect demanded by the Constitution.
A typical example would be the Organ donation change of law. Thanks to the JCC’s swift reaction we prevented the proposed law from coming into effect without additional amendments attached to the legislation, which ultimately protects religious law when it comes to this highly sensitive issue.
